On April 13-15, a group of CBHers was in New Orleans to see the devastation from Katrina 2-1/2 years later - to gain an appreciation for the impact and to lend a helping hand. The project we worked on was organized by St. Bernard Project. We worked at the Sievers' house, which you can find in the St. Bernard Project's web site. |

In one of her last public appearances on June 4, our very own June Walker was given an Honorary Doctorate by the University of Haifa. June is pictured with her husband, Barrett, and Rabbi Amy.
June died on July 29. She was a beloved member of our synagogue, and a great leader of our people. June was Chairperson of the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations and past president of Hadassah. Tributes to June Walker. |

Congregation Beth Hatikvah hosted the Summit Interfaith Thanksgiving Service on Sunday November 23rd. Clergy, Music Ministers and Cantors, singers and choirs and lay members from Summit’s diverse Houses of Worship participated in a musical and spiritual service. Clergy from Congregation Beth Hatikvah, Calvary Episcopal Church, Christ Church, St. John’s Lutheran Church, St. Teresa of Avila R. C. Church, Summit Jewish Community Center, Temple Sinai, The Unitarian Church, United Methodist and Wallace Chapel AME Zion Church. |

Congregation Beth Hatikvah celebrated the first night of Hanukah with our annual party. Israeli artist Riki Rothenberg spoke about her work and the city of Jerusalem. there were games and crafts for the kids, and, of course latkes. |
