Bnai Mitzvah

Bnai Mitzvah

Welcome from Debbie Kaflowitz

The day your child becomes a Bar or Bat Mitzvah is a joyous occasion at CBH. The journey leading up to that day may seem complex at times, and you are likely to have many questions. As the B'nai Mitzvah coordinator, I am the "personal touch" available to clarify the process, answer questions, and even "hold your hand." I chair the B'nai Mitzvah committee, which is comprised of Rabbi Amy, our education director Nancy Hersh, and several members of the congregation. As a group, we work to guide the spiritual, educational, and logistical aspects of the process. Over the years, we have developed many valuable resources to help you during your journey. Feel free to contact me at any time. The best way to reach me is by email. I look forward to working with you as your prepare to celebrate this wonderful life cycle event.

Torah Blessings

Have your family or friends whom you are honoring with an Aliyah asked for for help in preparing? Here are links to the text and chanting of the Torah blessings.

Readings

English readings help create a spiritual experience and are an important part of our services. We encourage B'nai Mitvah families to select reading for their child's service and have compiled dozens of readings in 21 categories that have become favorites. To access this collection of readings, you must be logged in.
