Teen Programs Please contact Nancy Hersh for more information about our teen programs. Grade 8-12 Teen Group We recognize the need to keep our post-B’nai Mitzvah students active in the Jewish community. We have many opportunities for them to participate in our CBH community, such as organizing our Purim Carnival, helping out with our Tot Shabbat program, volunteering in our Religious School, chanting Torah, and assisting with other CBH programs. There are also social action opportunities where our students become aware of the needs of the greater community, and learn the meaning of gemilut chasadim, tzedakah, and performing mitzvot. Some of the local organizations that we may work with are The Valerie Fund, Bridges, Friendship Circle, and others, as well as programs in Israel. |
Confirmation Program It is our goal for our students to engage in organized learning opportunities when they are at a critical time in their lives. This higher level of learning teaches our young adults that they are entering a community where they can question, challenge, and debate Jewish questions without being judged. This will enable them to further their intellectual and spiritual development. For students who wish to continue their religious school education, we have a Confirmation class which is part of our Religious School. Students participate in the JRF TEL Program (Teens: Experience and Learning), in addition to monthly classes and special guest speakers. At the end of 11th grade, there will be a Confirmation service, where the students will write their own creative service. The Confirmation program has three components: education, community involvement, and social action. |
