Israeli Shared Society: How our Jewish Federation supports minority populations in Israel” The population of Israel includes just under 2 million Israeli citizens who are not Jew-ish. These include Arab Muslims, Arab (and other) Christians, Bedouin, Druze and Circassians. The Declaration of Independence in 1948 envisioned a Jewish State with full rights and equality for non-Jewish minorities.

The Jewish Federation of Greater Metrowest has committed about $800,000 towards “shared society” initiatives to-ward Jewish pluralism, personal status issues and integration and support for Arab citizens. Learn about these initiatives from the Committee Chair for Arab Israeli initiatives, CBH member, Julia Malaga, who just returned from a fact finding mini mission to Israel to see our partner programs in action.
