Saturday, February 29, 2020 4 Adar 5780

9:00 AM - 11:30 AM

An intergenerational activity: Artist/educator Jennifer Levine, founder of the Peace Garden Music and Prayer Project, will lead adults and children in exploring the v'Ahavta prayer and making an interpretive mural together to display on our walls. Jennifer Levine is an experienced educator and artist who has worked as a classroom teacher and school administrator for over 20 years. Jennifer and musician/artist Scott Massarsky founded the Peace Garden Song and Mural Project to provide artist-in-residence experiences that build collaboration, mindfulness and peace-making skills among participants.

Jennifer received her BA from the University of Massachusetts, studied at the Graduate Theological Union in Berkeley, and is also a graduate of the San Francisco School of Circus Arts. Currently, she is the Educator at Temple Sholom in Scotch Plains. Her recent mural commissions include giant murals for The Merrick Jewish Center, The Montclair Community Pre-K, Glenfield Middle School, Bradford Elementary, Arts Unbound, and a set piece for Luna Stage (featured in the New York Times Metropolitan Section). Her work is on exhibit in NYC and NJ. She received a grant from the Puffin Foundation for her puppet show, “The Miracle on Monroe Street,” which she performed at the New York Fringe Festival.
