Education at CBH is meaningful, engaging, and fun

At Congregation Beth Hatikvah, we offer a range of programs that help children of all ages build a lasting connection to Jewish life. From early childhood experiences to meaningful pre-teen and teen education, there’s something here for every family.

Tot Shabbat

Ages 0–5, siblings welcome!

Tot Shabbat is a spirited and song-filled introduction to Shabbat for our youngest community members. Designed for babies, toddlers, and preschoolers, this early evening program includes songs, stories, crafts, and playtime—plus challah and grape juice as we say the Shabbat blessings together. Afterward, families enjoy a pizza dinner and time to schmooze and make new friends.

This program is free for members. Non-members are warmly welcome, with a small suggested donation.

Five Senses of Judaism

Age 5 and under

This interactive series invites children and their families to experience Jewish holidays in a fun, sensory-rich way. Each of the five sessions explores a different celebration—Shabbat, Hanukkah, Tu B’Shevat, Purim, and Passover—through taste, touch, smell, sound, and sight.

Following the program, there is a family service designed to be interactive and engaging for children of all ages, followed by a Shabbat Oneg with challah, juice, and snacks.

This program is free and open to both members and non-members. Feel free to bring a friend along and share the experience

Religious School

Kindergarten–7th Grade

Our Religious School nurtures curiosity, creativity, and a deepening connection to Jewish identity. We offer a welcoming, inclusive environment where students engage in hands-on, values-based learning tailored to a range of interests and learning styles. After class every Saturday morning, students are invited to participate in a student-centered service where they learn and practice prayers in a real service setting.

Kindergarten–2nd Grade

We are excited to welcome students to this brand new class! It is the perfect transition from the Five Senses program into our Religious School, with a classroom full of new students ready to make long-lasting friendships, create, and learn.

3rd–7th Grade

Beginning in 3rd grade, students prepare for their B’nai Mitzvah through small-group foundational Hebrew instruction. Alongside Hebrew, they engage in a rich Judaic curriculum that explores values, holidays, rituals, and what it means to live a Jewish life today.

Teen Program

8th Grade

This new program invites Religious School graduates to stay connected through meaningful, teen-centered Jewish experiences. Students focus on community service, field trips, and exploring how Jewish values can guide their lives. Through hands-on projects and shared experiences, they engage with Tikkun Olam (repairing the world) in ways that resonate beyond the classroom. It’s a chance to continue the friendships they’ve built during their Religious School journey—and to keep learning, questioning, and growing as Jewish teens beyond their B’nai Mitzvah.

Family and Community Events

Jewish life at CBH thrives through shared celebration and connection. Our calendar is filled with opportunities for families to gather, enjoy each other’s company, and build lasting traditions, including:
