Our religious and lay leaders pride themselves on creating meaningful interactions
MEET OUR RABBI
Rabbi Hannah Orden
A rabbi with a sense of humor, a warm heart, and an ardent soul, Hannah cares passionately about our congregation and creating a better world.
Hannah became our spiritual leader in 2014, and since then has blessed our community with her special blend of love, laughter, and dedication. She has an extensive background in Jewish education as well as a strong commitment to community building and social action, evident in her work with Summit Interfaith Council, where she serves on the Anti-Racism Task Force.
Before coming to CBH, Hannah was the rabbi at Temple B’nai Israel in Laconia, New Hampshire, and served on the adjunct faculty for Hebrew College in Newton, Massachusetts, where she earned her rabbinic ordination and Master of Arts in Jewish Studies.
MEET OUR EDUCATION DIRECTOR
Leemor is a passionate Jewish educator and communal program director with two decades of experience teaching and empowering children. Leemor holds a BS in psychology and sociology from Union College and an MA in organizational psychology from Columbia University. She lives in Maplewood with her two school age children, husband, and sleepy cat, Babka.
Besides being our religious school director, Leemor is an avid hiker, yoga lover, and is known for spontaneously dancing with her kids.
MEET OUR CANTORIAL LEADER
During the week, Steve is a portfolio manager, but come Shabbat, he transforms into our cantorial leader. He has led our songs and prayers for more than 15 years. His amazing voice will truly touch your soul.
Meet Our President
It's no surprise that, after 25 active years at CBH, Arleen is now our president. Her passion for learning led her to become a regular at programs run by Lifelong Learning, which she eventually chaired. Her study of Jewish texts, commentaries, and prayer as part of the CBH Adult B'nai Mitzvah group culminated in the joyous celebration of her first and only Bat Mitzvah in 2008. In addition, before becoming board president, Arleen served as communications chair, drawing on the skills and experience of her 40 years as a psychotherapist. Arleen and Dennis, her husband of over 50 years, have a daughter and two adult grandchildren.
CBH is as lively as it is today because of the influence of our many members who volunteer on the board.
