Her rabbinic experience also includes roles at Congregation Ohev Shalom, Kehillat HaNahar, and The Germantown Jewish Centre in Pennsylvania, as well as Hillel communities at the University of Texas, Washington and Lee University, and the University of Delaware. She also completed a chaplaincy internship at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago.

A native Detroiter, Rabbi Lesley has called San Francisco, Seattle, Madrid, Chicago, and most recently Philadelphia – “home.” She currently lives in Maplewood with her pit bull-boxer pup, Ima Shalom.

MEET OUR RELIGIOUS SCHOOL DIRECTOR

Emily Winter

Emily grew up learning and loving Jewish studies, and considers collaboration and teamwork some of her most important qualities. She has a passion for designing creative curricula, hands-on programming, and working with other educators to ensure Hebrew and Judaic education are fun and fulfilling. She hopes to further develop and enhance the religious school, to connect students to their own Jewish educational journey that they can hold onto for years to come.

Emily has a bachelor’s degree from Rutgers University and a master’s degree from Hunter College in Childhood Education. She has taught in New York City public schools, as well as at religious schools throughout New York and New Jersey. Emily lives in Livingston with her husband and son.
